Lo and Behold
And...
Lo and Behold! Far away he fled, and called upon the Oracle at Sighnos, aiming to collect the future and peddle it on his journey.
When, at last, he arrived at the Oracle, he found that there was a tunnel, leading deep into the ground. The tunnel to him seemed impossibly dark, being filled with thick, dark, smoke. He was sure that this was a sure sign of the Oracle's power, and so delved into the tunnel head first.
The tunnel softened his senses and the black smoke blinded him as he crawled deeper towards the oracle.
His ears caught sign of the oracle chanting, and so he finally exited the tunnel, and stood up. The Oracle stood, wearing a cloak of Hedfoe leaves and with wreaths of Eig in their head. The Oracle's manner of speaking was stunted and distant. As he began to ask the oracle to reveal the future, the oracle turned away from him and thrust their hand deep into their ears, pulling out a large grey mass and presenting it in front of his feet.
He picked the mass up and felt its weight in his hand. He carefully adorned the mass in the juice of the Sermberry to preserve it and put into his Derm-fibre bag, which his mother had sewed for him when he had been a child.
He blinked.
The entire underground cave shifted and the oracle had faded away. The ceiling had morphed into the clouded sky, ruled by those who lived above, and the chiseled basalt ground his feet had once trod upon had become the soft, gravely earth he had always stepped upon. He had no memory of the events that had transpired, but he found himself holding the Derm-fibre bag his mother had sewn so many moons ago, and, inside, a strange mass which smelt of possibilities and had a slight sheen, which evoked the tension of death within him.
He took the grey mass out, and liked it.
and...
Lo and Behold! Far Away he fled...
